It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her newest gem.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind final game tension. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this hundred was far harder to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this knock followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a disappointing period because it seemed I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in all three matches, but here that only provided Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from that point Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was dismissed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the belief to do that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this championship need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this triumph coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at an important competition.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played with the discomfort.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have pushed back thoughts of retirement, this World Cup is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
