Per recent claims from a whistleblower, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, declared in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

The exact content of the “commutation application” are unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her guests.

These meetings allegedly include a “special cordoned-off area” for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, she was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told House Democrats that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers “quickly”, she “essentially used” the official as her private aide.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, for her to examine and change and return them to the official to digitize and send to the original sender.

Extra Benefits Alleged

Further perks allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a benefit not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Her legal counsel did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

Through a spokesperson, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the representative noted.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

This past summer, she was transferred from a low-security prison in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most detainees are incarcerated for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the deputy attorney general, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's personal lawyer.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid widespread conjecture around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found deceased in custody in that year while awaiting prosecution on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, the congressman also revealed that he had sent a letter to the President, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to deny the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a reply to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
